In the Apostle Paul's letter to the Romans, he identified the steps to salvation

Step 1: What is your need? The bible tells us that "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). It does not matter how good a person I am or how good a person you are, we all fall short of God's standard.

Step 2: What is the penalty of sin? "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23). This scripture refers to the physical and spiritual death. Physical death occurs when the body no longer has living breath. Spiritual death occurs when someone is eternally separated from God.

Step 3: What is God's Provision? "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). Christ died for our sins because we could not pay the price for our sins. He died instead of us.

Step 4: How do I acknowledge? "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9). Simply by believing in Christ, you are receiving Him.

Step 5: How do I make a decision to accept the plan of salvation? God loves you, Christ died for you, and Jesus will save you from your sins. Jesus said "Behold I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me" (Revelation 3:20).

You can ask Christ to come into your heart. Jesus Christ alone has the power to save you! Repent of your sins, ask Jesus into your heart, and by faith, receive your gift of salvation! "Have mercy upon me O' God, according to thy loving kindness: according unto the mercies of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin" (Psalm 51:1,2). Dear Lord Jesus, come into my heart and save me. Wash away my sins and live in my life. Live in me, through me, and take control of me. "Create in me a clean heart, O' God, and renew a right spirit within me" (Psalm 51:10).
