"Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as

elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine

clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading

beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in

God’s sight" 1 Peter 3:3-4, (NIV).

There is nothing wrong with looking good and wearing nice

clothes, but we should not be made to feel that we must look a

certain way. God desires us to be in tune with Him. God is more

interested in how we look on the inside. Our thoughts, feelings,

emotions, and behaviors reflect what is going on at the core of

our hearts. He wants us to be be quick to love and slow to

anger. He wants us to be peacemakers, and to have gentle and

quiet spirits. He looks at our hearts and desires us to be humble,

gentle, and full of love for one another. What are some ways in

which we can demonstrate hearts of humbleness and love to

those around us?

"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it" Proverbs

4:23, (NIV).

"Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good" Romans 12:9,

(NIV).

"Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without

anger or disputing" 1 Timothy 2:8, (NIV).

Dear Lord, we ask that you will guide our thoughts. We thank you for

loving us with an unconditional love when we are so undeserving. We

know sometimes we let our thoughts, feelings, and emotions get in the

way of honoring Your word. We ask that You help us remember Your

instructions throughout the scriptures and let seeds of love and

reconciliation grow in our hearts that lead us closer to You and Your will

for our lives. Help us to appreciate all of Your beauty, and to be

beautiful according to Your word. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
